Description
Replacement throttle spindle (throttle shaft) for the SU HD8 2″ carburettor. New and unused. Fit a new spindle when the old one is worn, as wear here lets air leak past and makes the idle unsteady.
Size: 150mm (about 5 29/32″) long, 5/16″ (7.94mm) diameter. Brass.
Fits: SU HD8 carburettors on the Jaguar E-Type (triple carburettor set).
Please note: the spindle is supplied without the hole for the throttle stop taper pin. To fit the stop, open the throttle until the disc is level in the bore with the stop touching the body, so the carburettor reaches full throttle. Hold the stop in place with a dab of Loctite, let it dry, then drill a 3mm hole for the taper pin.
